DAY 1

ROUTE

Drive from Windhoek via Dordabis, Uhlenhorst and Stampriet to the Stoney’s Hotel, Gochas. Visit en route the oldest Karakul weavery of Namibia.

OVERNIGHT

Stoney’s Hotel (dinner/bed/breakfast).

DAY 2

ROUTE

Drive along the Auob River, via Koes and visit to the Kokerboom (quivertree)to Keetmanshoop, Canyon Hotel, for lunch. Proceed past the Naute Dam to the Canon Lodge for dinner.

CANON LODGE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

DAY 3

ROUTE

Visit the Fish River Canyon , the second largest canyon of the world. This gigantic ravine, in places almost 500 meters deep, has been gorged out of vast undulating plain in the course of thousands of years. Proceed to Luederitz via Seeheim and Aus. This drive takes you through intriguing ‘moon’ landscape of endless desert vistas and bizarre rock formations.

DAY 4

ROUTE

The day is spent in Luederitz. The first German settlement in Namibia, named after the merchant Adolf Luederitz from Bremen, who bought this area from the Hottentots in 1883. This small harbour town is perched on rugged black rock, offset by the deep blue waters of the bay, and is surrounded by bays, coves and fjords. During the morning visit to the ‘ghost town’ of Kolmanskop where diamonds were first discovered in Namibia. Afterwards sightseeing in and around Luederitz.

DAY 5

ROUTE

Drive back through the restricted diamond area to Aus and the scenic Neisip plain to Hammerstein Lodge.

HAMMERSTEIN LODGE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

DAY 6

ROUTE

In the early morning depart to a excursion to the Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, a large clay pan in the centre to the Namib Desert, surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world. Be in time for lunch at Namib Desert Lodge.

NAMIB DESERT LODGE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

DAY 7

ROUTE

Drive via Reemhoogte Pass to Rehoboth to the Oanob Dam. Return to Windhoek. Arrival in the late afternoon.

DAY 8

ROUTE

Travel via Khomashochland, down the Gamsberg Pass into the Namib. After a picnic lunch proceed through the Namib Naukluft Park, passing the waterholes Ganab and Hotsas. Then on to the Welwitschia Plain and the so-called “moon valley”. Arrival in Swakopmund at about sunset.

HANSA HOTEL (bed/breakfast).

DAY 9

ROUTE

After breakfast depart to Walvis Bay for a boat cruise with champagne, fresh oysters, and snacks on board. Return to Swakopmund. In the afternoon sightseeing in Swakopmund and time at leisure.

DAY 10

ROUTE

Proceed to the famous Erongo area. After arrival at Ai Aiba “the rock painting Lodge” you have time to relax either at the Pool or during a walk around the Lodge. In the late afternoon sundowner drive in open vehicle.

AI AIBA LODGE (dinner/overnight/breakfast)

DAY 11

ROUTE

Early morning start for a 3 hours drive in open vehicle on the premises of the
Lodge. Numerous pre-historic rock-paintings will draw you into the
spell of mystic Africa.
Afterwards proceed to the Ugab Valley.

OVERNIGHT

VINGERKLIP LODGE (dinner/overnight/breakfast).

DAY 12

ROUTE

Drive to the famous Etosha National Park. First game-viewing drive.

OVERNIGHT

OKAUKUEJO RESTCAMP IN ETOSHA (bed/breakfast).

DAY 13

ROUTE

Full day of game-viewing in the Etosha National Park, at the waterholes or in the open countryside. 

OVERNIGHT

MOKUTI LODGE (bed/breakfast).

DAY 14

ROUTE

Full day of game-viewing in the Etosha National Park.

OVERNIGHT

MOKUTI LODGE (bed/breakfast).

DAY 15

ROUTE

After breakfast proceed via Tsumeb to the Hoba Meteorite. En route visit Lake Otjikoto and the Mine Museum. Lunchpacks en route.

OVERNIGHT

FRANS INDONGO LODGE (dinner/overnight/breakfast).

DAY 16

ROUTE

Early morning (07:00 – 09:00 h) game drive on the farm. Return to Windhoek via Okahandja ,visit the graves of the Herero chiefs and of the German Schutztruppe. Arrival in Windhoek in the late afternoon. End of Service
