HALF DAY TOUR: SWAKOPMUND & WALVIS BAY SIGHTSEEING

The two coastal towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay which you shall be exploring are characterized and enriched by German and English as well as colonial culture. Your guide will take you to Swakopmund’s oldest buildings including the Woermann Tower. After seeing all the architectural sights in Swakopmund dating back to the 19th and 20th century, you will find yourself amongst the dunes and the Atlantic Ocean where the road takes you south to Walvis Bay’s lagoon which is a paradise for windsurfers, kite surfers and small sailboats. The salt pans are famous for the beautiful flamingoes and other small shore birds. You will also see an artificial bird island which is owned by locals who harvest guano to make a living by exporting it. After a half day of new impressions and interesting facts you will make your way back to Swakopmund and your tour guide will drop you at your accommodation or if you wish, somewhere in town.
