This luxurious desert resort was built with adobe bricks typical of Arabian villages and tents similar to those of the Bedouin. The lights are solar-powered and, as the 45 tent cum rooms have en-suite showers instead of baths, you can have a unique swim in the desert by splashing in the clear, cool pool. The rooms and bar have a marvelous desert view. Little has been sacrificed to luxury however. The restaurant has a fine German/ Namibian cuisine with fine South Africn wines. Reached by road and or air the Sossusvlei Lodge is not only the perfect base for balloon trips and tours to Sossusvlei and the Namib Naukluft Park, but also a wonderful holiday destination on its own.
