The Fish River Canyon is the largest canyon in the Southern Hemisphere and second in size only to the Blue Nile Gorge in Ethiopia on the African continent. It is one of the main tourist attractions in the south of the country.

The Hobas Camping Site is situated 10km from the main viewpoint along the access road to the canyon. It has a kiosk with basic supplies and a swimming pool.
