Mola-Mola Safaris - Dolphin Cruises

Our boat cruises are very popular with individual travelers as well as incentive and conference groups who visit the Namibian coastline. Our eight boats hold between 10 and 25 guests each. They are registered to carry a maximum number of persons and this number is strictly adhered to. During the whole cruise, the boats stay in the protected lagoon area of Walvis Bay the where the water is calm and abundant with bird life.

Our boats depart from Walvis Bay at 09h00 and cruise the Harbour.
Then we cut across the lagoon to moored Russian trawlers where inquisitive seals will swim up to the boats for something to eat. Russian fishing trawlers have become a prominent feature on the Namibian cost. Our cruise will take you right between these floating fish factories, many of which, due to a lack of maintenance, have become a symbol of the severity of rust and corrosion at our coast. Your skipper will explain all about and why these ships are here, and what they do.

From there we head for Pelican Point where entertainment is provided by a large seal colony and schools of dolphins swimming alongside the boats. Pelican Point, the very tip of the sandbank that forms the bay, is home to a resting colony of Cape Fur seals. Some 5000 seals, mostly females, can be seen here.

For the bird lovers, apart from seeing many flamingos, cormorants, and pelicans, there are common sightings of the White Chinned Petrel, Wilson’s Storm Petrel, Cape Gannet, Black Oystercatcher, and even the Jackass Penguin. Pelicans also provide wonderful photographic opportunities while flying alongside the boats.
To round off the trip you will be spoilt with fresh Walvis Bay oysters, a light lunch, and cold sparkling wine served on board the boat, to return to Walvis Bay around 12h30. Beer and soft drinks are also included.

Morning Cruise with champagne, fresh oysters and snacks on board.
