16 days in Namibia, stretching the central plateau – Waterberg area, the northern area, Hoba Meteorite, Grootfontein, Tsumeb, Lake Otjikoto and the Etosha National Park. The western area of Namibia, southern Kaokoveld – The Hoanib river with Ongongo Hot Springs, Sesfontein and Damaraland – Palmwag area and Twyfelfontein.
We will offer you a daily breakfast consisting of the following: fried eggs, boiled eggs or scrambled eggs, together with bread and lunchmeats or marmalades, yogurts and cereals.
Plus minus 2 to 3 hours before sunset we will set up our camp. You now have the opportunity to survey the surrounding, whilst Klabri's Safaris prepares your dinner. After a nice shower and a sun downer we will sit down and dine. Let yourself be surprised what we will offer you with different courses on your plate for dinner from the Namibian culinary game palate.

DAY 1

ROUTE: Arrival Windhoek – Waterberg Wilderness Camp (292 Km) Camping
|

You will be collected at Hosea Kutako International Airport Windhoek and taken to the offices of your car rental company. At the offices of your car rental company, you will receive your ordered drinks which will be in your car. We drive via Okahandja in a northerly direction to Waterberg Wilderness Camp at the Waterberg Plateau.

DAY 2

ROUTE: Waterberg - Otjikoto Rest Camp (236 Km) Camping

From Waterberg we drive to the Hoba Meteorite. The biggest meteorite on earth, lays 20 km south-westerly of Grootfontein. It is estimated that it weighs around 60 tons and is made of iron, nickel and cobalt. Via Grootfontein and Tsumeb our journey continues to the Otjikoto Rest Camp.

DAY 3

ROUTE: Otjikoto Rest Camp – Namoutoni Rest Camp (94 Km) Camping
|
|
This morning we take a shorter drive towards the Etosha National Park. The Etosha National Park, one of the biggest in Africa, got its name from the Etosha Pan. The Etosha Pan is 4,590 km². Around 12 million years ago the Etosha Pan was a gigantic sea that was collected from the Kunene River. Today the Pan only holds water after good rains.
Our first camp will be set up close to the famous Fort Namutoni that was build by German Schutztruppler in the early 20th century, destroyed by Owambo’s in 1904 and rebuild in April 1949 and then declared as a national museum.

Today you can drive through the National Park and watch animals all day long. When you come back to the camp we will have prepared the meal and afterwards you can still watch game at the waterhole.

ROUTE: Namutoni - Okaukuejo Rest Camp ( 134 Km) Camping

From Namutoni we will drive through the Etosha Park, via Halali Rest Camp along the Etosha Pan towards Okaukuejo. At night the waterhole of Okaukuejo is a hustle and a bustle of animals with Rhino, Elephants and Lion that are often to be seen apart from numerous numbers of different antelopes.

We rise early and drive in a north-westerly direction through the western part of the Etosha National Park towards Camp Hobatere.

ROUTE: Hobatere camp – Khowareb Schlucht Camp (92 Km) Camping

Leaving Hobatere behind us we go into the Damaraland through Kamdesha and along the Ombonde River into the Khowareb Schlucht in the Hoanib River. Here the first desert elephants may be seen. Nice 4x4 off road river driving will be experienced.

A short drive via Warm Quelle we arrive at Ongongo Hot Springs and have a relaxing day at the spring.

DAY 10

ROUTE: Ongongo Hot Springs – Puros Ngatutanga Camp (140 Km) Camping

We leave the warm spring of Ongongo behind us and travel via Sesfontein, place of the six fountains, into the Hoarusib River to Puros. In Sesfontein we have a look at the old Castle, refuel our petrol and proceed to Puros. Puros lies 55 km as the crow flies from the Atlantic Ocean on the Skeleton Coast National Park border.

ROUTE: Puros Ngatutanga Camp -Amspoort (90 Km) Camping

After breakfast we leave Puros and drive in a southerly direction in the wet Hoarusib River to Amspoort. In this area we many find a couple of desert-lion prides as well as desert-elephants which might be seen. This is a very sparely populated area.

ROUTE: Amspoort – Palmwag Lodge (177 Km) Camping or Lodge

From Amspoort our drive goes to Palmwag via Sesfontein in the Hoanib River, where much variety of animals can be seen like Giraffe, Oryx, Springbuck, Ostrich, Elephants and maybe even Lion. At Palmwag we have the option to either use the camping facilities or the Lodge.

ROUTE: Palmwag Lodge – Twyfelfontein Lodge (112 Km) Lodge

Today we take the gravel road to Twyfelfontein Lodge. In the Twyfelfontein area we will visit the Burnt Mountain and view the rock engravings at the World Heritage site of Twyfelfontein "Fountain of doubt" as it is called. A further 2500 rock engravings have been found in the Twyfelfontein area.

We leave the world heritage of Twyfelfontein to have a look at the Organ Pipes and the burned mountains before heading to the Ugab River.

ROUTE: Ugab River – White Lady Tented Camp (104 Km) Tented Camping or Lodge

Our journey continues in 4x4 through the dry riverbed of the Ugab, then to the Brandberg and the White Lady to have a look at more rock paintings. A further 45,000 paintings can be found at Brandberg. The Brandberg has a circumference of 650 km² and with the ‘Königstein’, 2573m; it’s the highest peak in Namibia. At night we will enjoy our last night in the bush around the campfire.

Notes:
In the morning we have a good breakfast and pack up camp. Between 9 and 10 we start heading to our next destination. There is enough time to make ”pit-stops” along the way to stretch your legs, take photos and have a snack. In the late afternoon at about 16h00 we will arrive at our destination and build up the camp for the night.
Food and Drinks Breakfast will consists of tea and coffee, cereals, fresh fruit, bread, cheese, cold meats, fried eggs, yogurt, etc. At lunch time we will have a light meal like sandwiches, salads or similar. Every night we will prepare the finest cuisine meals for you with fresh ingredients. Occasionally, we might dine in a restaurant.
Documentation You will need a valid passport with a visa (depending on your nationality). The passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your date of departure in Namibia. An international driver’s license is necessary for the “drivers”.
